Go to any shop that does air cooled VW's

Or

"Threadsert", its not a helicoil its steal insert thats about 1/3 bigger than the original hole, it has wicked course threads, comes with a matching drill bit and install bit in the package, you drill the hole, tap it, and use green lock tight to hold the insert when its threaded in. DO NOT bolt anything up till the lock tight has a full 24 hours to dry..

They are available for specialty tool shops, some aircraft part suppliers, specialty faster places.. Not typically at regular parts stores, except see my note about Air cooled VW's...

^^ sounds exactly like a helicoil

Never mind, googled it and see what the difference is now. A heli coil would still be fine for this application, hell looks like you've got enough meat you could probably just go up one size in bolt, drill and tap the intake and be back on the road with no inserts.

Thread repair is easy. Heli-coil or the kits they sell at parts stores should be fine.

I had something similar happen on some brake calipers where the surfaces weren't seated correctly. This caused the bolt to go in slightly crooked, causing the threads to strip, even at the proper torque.

IDK what the TQ is but helicoil would support high TQ. otherwise just drill and tap it to the next size larger bolt....which would be fine for holding on a TB

You sure the casting was deep enough for the bolt that striped out?? (was the bolt longer than the threaded hole?)

Update! First off thanks everyone for the help, okay so originally what happen is i called the company i ordered it from (not saying the name) and there recommended tq was 18-22 grade 5 bolt 22-23 grade 8 bolt ft lbs if using forced induction as i felt that was way to much i tried 18 with the grade 8 well as we can see that was NOT ideal, the 4th one stripped out (bolts were correct length) and as of yesterday i had never used a helicoil, one of the maintenance guys at my work let me borrow one so today i put a helicoil in it and it (wasnt bad at all) it worked great, i probably could have just tapped the hole bigger but already had the kit so figured i would go for it this time though i didnt use a tq wrench i just tightened them up good with one hand with a wrench not going crazy on it. Thanks everyone for the advice.

Heli-coils work well when installed correctly. Look at all stock LS oil pans, they come that way from the factory. The aluminum can hold fine, but the stainless threads don't wear out over time as bad.
