Default I need a new radiator....

I have a 1999 Camaro ss ...

i need a a new radiator ... which would be best bang for my buck ,with the least amount of extra pieces? ... I would love to have sort of a bolt on and be done with it without struggling to align any other piece to it....

any help would be appreciated it ...

thanks in advance.

Go to your local part store and see if they are running any sales. Or Rock Auto.

Look around for an all metal direct bolt in.....get away from the plastic side tank crap. EBAY has had all metal ones many times....

For example:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/THE-BEST-1998-2002-Camaro-Firebird-TA-LS1-Aluminum-Radiator-6-Speed-T56-Trans/392080192379?epid=2261917312&hash=item5b49ccf37b%3 Ag%3AmrgAAOSw3pVZxVA1&_sacat=0&_nkw=1998+firebird+ radiator+metal&_from=R40&rt=nc&LH_TitleDesc=0%7C0

....and it works for auto transmission also......just need to have an aftermarket transmission cooler, which is a $40.00 complete parts install.

Just curious, what's "better" about that LT1 radiators? First I've seen this.

They can crack over time. But they still last a long time and they're cheap for a good radiator shop to replace, so you can keep your original core.

I've had 3 side tanks crack...for no reason like an impact......

But that was over the last 20 years I've had my car.

BUT....for $200.00....its a pretty ridiculous decision not to go with a slightly larger capacity ALL METAL radiator. I couldn't find any back 8-10 years ago when I replaced my last radiator. otherwise it was a NO-BRAINER.

I just ordered this one...for the hell of it. I'll put it in when I get a chance. My opinion, since the factory LS1 radiator actually works on everything AS LONG as everything is operating properly........ Spending $500+ on BeCools and Griffins is a complete waste of cash, they will do absolutely no more than this metal radiator will do. I'll have my friend weld the lower right corner Petcock valve port shut. Then use the other port on the lower left corner as a quicker drain port than that ridiculous plastic Petcock valve.
Maybe have him make me a custom sheet metal shroud that seals 100% to the rear and add a couple more flaps that can open up when cruising on the highway with the fans off......
