Default rockauto sucks

I purchased a new radiator for my 98 z28. everyone said get the radiator for the LT1 because the core is thicker so I did. After all the work to install it and I also bought a new heater cor and all the hoses to go with it. The top line for the auot trans has a slow leak. They say they will not Warranty the radiator because it is not for my car an LS1. Buyer Beware, I'm done with them going back to summit Racing, never had a problem with them. This is bullshit!.

I put Teflon tape on the fitting to stop the drip but who knows how long that will last. The work took forever to do, and they won't Warranty this New Radiator. Terrible policies.

Any Ideas on how to fix this would be great.

I would think that if you now installed it in a LT and it leaked that it would be covered under warranty? Do all the thread specs match?

Why not tell them that you put this in your "other" car. Just add your LT1 car to your profile!

It seems that once you start this online and they reject you , you can no longer access their site returns action. Like I said I think they suck, back to Summit for me.

Yea I was thinking about that but if I did that then I would put myself on the same level as them. I bought the aftermarket cooler listed in the post above. Summit has Price Matching ya see , so all I need do is look at the price on crocksauto then call Summit Racing and they will BEAT it! They lost me as a customer forever, and anyone else that will hear my Cry.

Thanx again guys for another job well done!

I'm leery about websites and part compatibility, especially considering you have to eat return shipping or sometimes not be able to return at all. I always plug my VIN into the ACDelco website to get the part number and start with that.

I'm not sure I follow the logic here. I've bought tons of stuff from them and never had a problem. In fact, I bought an LS1 radiator for my LS1 car. Had it installed. Done.

You bought a part designed for a car other than your own, and must have stated as much to them. It didn't fit. So now they're obliged to take it back?

Except that this isn't a fitment issue... it leaks. He could have been buying it for a Saturn 5 rocket and it shouldn't matter for return purposes when the part is defective (and unmodified).

Dispute the charges......if you used a credit card you're in the drivers seat. My bank reverses any and every charge I tell them to....no questions asked. They let the vendor go after me and play no role, but I'm the customer so I'm number one...........

Is the radiator itself leaking, like where the tank meets the fins?

If the radiator itself is leaking, I don't care if I hooked it up to a toaster, it's defective and should be warrantied. Your engine type shouldn't make any difference as to whether or not the radiator works unless they're arguing the water pump for an LS1 generates so much more pressure that it breaks the radiator.

Honestly, this is why I buy a lot of my parts from a certain very large online store that has the same name as a jungle in South America. No problems warrantying an ACDelco starter that crapped out on month 22 of a 24 month warranty and they paid return shipping and paid shipping to send me a brand new free one.

It's the A/T line connection at the top side of the radiator that had a steady drip. I used some Teflon tape and it stopped for now, but I'm sure the heat will destroy it. I'm going to install a B&M Cooler just cannot decide on which one. I ordered the 266 but then placed it on hold.
The B&M 70266 20,500 BTU has been suggested and looks great, but
The B&M 70264 14,400 Btu has a Low Temperature Bypass..... not real sure what this does but I think it closes off part of the cooler when the trans is cold.
I contacted B&M via email and they told me that bigger is better, nothing about the low temp bypass.
