Default Silverado AC issues

Hello, I have a 2005 Silverado with the dual zone heat and A/C. When I run the AC for so long the drivers side AC will go out and start blowing heat while the passenger stays cool, and if I cut the engine off and back on it will start blowing cool again. Any ideas as to what could cause this? Thanks

I wonder if it has vacuum actuation? If it does it may be going bad on the drivers side. Check it out to the 2005 if it's uses it.

This is probably not an electronics issue so I have moved the thread to the General Maintenance section where it will get more attention.

I’m honestly not entirely sure if it has vacuum activation, I’ll google it and see more about that. Thankyou

Ok, I have had this same exact issue on my 2005 Silverado. The trouble is going to be with your blend door actuator. It is located under the dash and almost under the center console. You can get to it from the passenger side. You will need to remove a cover panel first, which has I believe three or four screws holding it up. One of the screws are really hard to get to. Once you get the actuator out you can either replace it with a new one or, you can take the old one apart and clean off the electrical board with some di-electric spray cleaner. There is a part on the electric board where the contact moves back and fourth and mine had a layer of grease on it affecting it to lose reference. I hope this helps and good luck.

I found a youtube video explaining your exact situation, why it is happening and how to fix it. Around the 5 min. mark talks about the dirt on the contacts that I was trying to explain in my previous post. Again, good luck.

Oh my lord, you are awesome! I have been trying to figure this out for like a year and a half but either I never got an answer or I got a wrong one. I can’t express to you how thankful I am for this info, Thankyou!

No problem, it drove me crazy for quite a while too, especially when you are driving around in south Florida on a hot summer day and all of a sudden your a/c goes from 60 to 100+ degree air hitting you in your face. Glad I could help.
