Default interior panels and Body Clips/Retainers

All,
I hope everybody is doing well. I recently purchased a 2000 SS and am slowing going through the process of fixing/updating interior and exterior parts and equipment. The prior owner had installed a sound system shortly before I purchased and in the process of the install, it appears he removed the interior paneling along adjacent to the rear seats, to run the wire. I guess he didnt have the appropriate clips to reconnect the panels, so he decided to use velcro. The panels wont stay flush/connected and I hate when things are not correct. I recently purchased a package from amazon that has like 650 pieces of common clips, connectors, etc. My question is related to the appropriate clips/retainer to use on the interior paneling. Does anybody know what the clip/retainer looks like or have a website or resource which can identify the appropriate piece to use? I don't want to pull off the panels until I know which clip I need to use.

Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks guys/gals!

Can you take pictures and share the specific problems?

The velcro is the OEM attachment. There was a TSB for one issue with that velcro and the fix involves putting a screw in a strategic location behind the speaker grills. Please share and we can give you a link to the screw details if that's what you need.

Velcro as OEM ha, that's just ridiculous. If you could direct me to the screw fix, I would appreciate it.

That gap is there pretty much fresh from the factory. The OEM Velcro can't hold it.

I had a 1996 camaro and I don't recall that being the case, though I sold that car in 2003 and I don't really remember that far back. Any methods to fix it? I know a prior post discussed a perfectly placed screw. Perhaps I could just replace/add more velcro.

Appreciate the responses.

I'm actually working on a fix for the interior sail panel gap issue that doesn't involve a screw. I plan to use some relatively strong neodymium magnets.
Going to try it out this weekend. Will report back with results.

There are two types of fasteners with the factory Velcro pre-bonded to them. There are four fasteners total three of the one on the left and one on the right.

Here's the link to the screw fix in the meantime. Post #19

That’s perfect. I guess it was only doing on the 98-02 models. Hence why my 96 didn’t do this.

Correct. It was only the final generation of the vehicle, when GM stopped giving a crap about the little details...
