Default Will P0332 (knock sensor) code clear by itself

Hi everyone,
I am getting my car back on the road and trying to get it ready for emissions. Car was driven about 60 miles and I decided to goose it when getting on the highway and when I let off, it threw a P0332 code. I believe the code was a fluke because the car hasn't been driven in a while and I am trying to get the ODBii ready for emissions inspection. Will the code clear itself after a couple runs of it not happening or do I need to clear the code manually and reset the ODBii readiness?

I doubt it would clear on it's own unless it was getting a bad(high resistance )connection causing the code. Problem is if it happened because of a bad connection it will most likely show up again and again until permanent. Are the sensors below the intake ? I'm not sure about this... some pcm's will retard timing if a knock sensor code is set to help keep the engine from detonation. I would clear it and see if it comes back. If it does then it is time to look into why the code is being set

Thanks jetech. I cleared the code and it came back a couple times. Seems to throw the code when I give it 1/2-3/4 throttle up to around 55 and then let off. Gonna check the fuel system, new filter, clean the injectors and check the wiring. I haven't visually confirmed but I believe they are under the intake (02 Camaro SS). Want to rule everything out before I pull the intake.

I'm pretty sure you will have to remove the intake. That code is set by the PCM not receiving the spec'd voltage from the knock sensor circuit. GM moved the knock sensor location on later model LS's because of the corrosion issues being under the intake. A nice write up on ls1tech

Ahh, I wasn't aware of that. Thanks man. Looks like a good write up. Guess I'm gonna have to go under the intake.

Thanks again jetech. Replaced both sensors and the harness today. Geez, I forgot how much of a pain it is to remove the intake on a bone stock LS1. LOL

I was only able to start it up and idled it till it hit temp. I have the front bumper removed right now to replace the bottom stripe (35thLE) so I can't drive it on the road right now. Reved it a couple times and no codes so far.

Yeah, it's been fun getting her back on the road. Still have to replace the speakers then going to give her a good detail and some Zaino. Had to replace one of the vert rams a couple months ago but it wasn't a big deal. I think driving her is giving me the speed bug again. LOL Prob going to work on gettting my TA back on the road now. LOL
