Leaking power steering pump - ran it dry

Leaking power steering pump - ran it dry Hello All,
Well I got my rebuilt LS running very nicely. The problem was I didn't put any power steering fluid in the pump because I didn't want to deal with it at the time. Yes I know.. very dumb. Anyway now that I added fluid it's dripping out the bottom of the pump on to the alternator. I've checked all fittings and nothing seems to be leaking out of them. My thought are the seals probably got dried out because I ran it without fluid. Do you think the best reasonable thing to troubleshoot is to get a seal kit and rebuild? If so, I can't seem to find one of these kits online for an LS power steering pump. Specifically a GM type 2 pump exactly like this one here . Everytime I try to do a search for "GM type 2 power steering pump rebuild kit" or "GM type 2 power steering pump seal" nothing comes up. Anyone have any suggestions how I find this kit... if there is such a thing?

Is that what vehicle the type 2 pump came in? The LS1 in a 2000 corvette? I was looking all over for that piece of information. All I can find is that it was used a lot to upgrade older cars. If that is the case then I can probably just look for rebuild kits for that car.

Ya good call. I was also hoping to get the seal kit too. I guess since this isn't my daily driver I can take it out and take it apart and measure everything and see if it fits that kit shaft and seal kit. I wonder how I could find out which factory cars have that pump??? Perhaps I could then go to autozone or something and get a kit. Because auto part stores have no idea about anything unless you give a make and model
