Default I have a request

I have been very absent from the forum for a while. I am asking if you guys can help me fix my 1998 Trans Am engine issues. I am on Firebird Nation but have not received much help there lately. Fred is very busy ;-)
Anyway I have the codes P0131 and P0151 codes on moderate or extreme acceleration, I have replaced the fuel filter and fuel pump (both AC Delco). I can drive the car all day with no codes but acceleration makes them and then it goes into open loop mode until I reset..This is my mid life car forever. Help me before I junk it and buy a Dodge Charger (seats for 4 adults;-)

Research is your friend. There are countless write ups on this and a few threads here on LS1 tech..

Probably a bad MAF... don't know why people couldn't just say that.

It's always, "research is your friend" and other asinine stuff.

Maybe your search here sucks... ever thought of that?
Maybe people like to talk to other owners. Ever thought of that.
Maybe people think, hey it's a forum, you know, a forum, where people talk... and not a wiki, you know a place where people look up things.

Many thanks to all for the help. I found the problem because of your good advice. I would have never suspected the MAF. Look at this photo of all the garbage in the screen. The reason: The last time the air filter was replaced was at the local GM dealership about a year ago and the tech evidently did not install it right. The tabs at the rear of the upper filter cover were not captured in the base slots, so it was up about 1/2" at the rear and not sealed at all. Hence the large particles in the screen. Runs like new again.

Glad you figured this out.

And probably some CRC Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner wouldn't be a bad idea at this point.

I would definitely clean the sensor after finding the screen in that condition. Personally, I would disassemble the housing (it's just 4 Torx bits to remove the ends) and clean the sensor element by hand, very gently, with rubbing alcohol and Q-tips - but if you're not comfortable with that then at least using the spray cleaner mentioned above would be a good idea.

You are a very kind person. I would have taken the MAF back to the dealership and forced everyone in the service department to lick it clean.

I did, post 3 above with a direct link about the MAF. Yes as stated “a place where people look up things”

That's literally my point.

That would've never happened with a properly installed air filter.
