Power steering pumps
Also does anyone have a recommendation on a pulley puller & press that work without issues won’t break the bank? This will be my first time going at this. Thanks in advance.
This is our sticky on self-rebuilding. You could take the valve apart and clean it all out and see if that solves your problem before investing in a new pump: https://ls1tech.com/forums/general-m...pair-pics.html
It seems that there are a lot of poor quality "new" pumps on the market and remans rebuilt and sold with bad cores. I had mine rebuilt by TurnOne to avoid any complications. They turned it back around to me in a week and I recall it was for a very reasonable price. (I recall spending $100 more than a cheap reman to have my good core rebuild.) Even though you may not see it on the website, you can call them and arrange for a stock rebuild.

If you have a good core, getting a reputable shop to rebuild it is always a great option (assuming it's not a daily driver where you need it back on the road ASAP). I had a shop local to us (Midwest Remanufacturing) rebuild a brake booster for me a couple of months ago. They did a great job, rebuilt it on-site using my original core (no other cores were even available for this ancient application). They also do PS pumps. Turnaround there is about two weeks though.
My next move was to the new Cardone unit. My only complaint is that it was noisy. But it has held up and worked fine for several years now.
