Firebird headlight issues.

Firebird headlight issues. I searches the forums but did not find the problem I found just today. T/A headlights were working fine. This morning, with the engine OFF, the passenger side headlight pops up. The drivers side stays down. Grrr. So It is early morning and dark, so I put the headlights on/off a number of times and still the passenger headlight opens. Then I start the car. Both headlights open. OMG! Anyone else have this issues? I have replaced the gears in the headlight box with those aftermarket brass gears and put in HID lights in those pop ups in other Firebirds. But never ran into a problem with only one opening, but both opening when engine is running.
Checked all the fuses, pressed them in tight, but no change. It would be nice to open the headlights at night without the engine running.

The headlight module controls each light independently, so issues with the module can manifest themselves on just one light or both at the same time. If you are sure you don't have stripped gears, then this is the next thing to check.
However... I think if you read through the totality of posts on this site, there is a strong case that the metal gears are a waste of time/money. They strip just like the plastic ones... https://ls1tech.com/forums/wiring-st...ght-doors.html

I put in DDM tuning HID in a 98 Firebird. Crazy bright. You could light up reflective stop signs a mile away. Now I have a 2002. Headlights are not bad, but found lots of LED upgrades. Some have fans for cooling????
Any one use these? I didn't see it in the thread. I have searched the forum not not found anything about LED headlights. I would think this would be a popular topic.
