same issue here for the 3rd time. I used JB weld last time, still came undone. I'm just gonna get a new motor and be done with it for now.

Well that sucks. I used a plastic epoxy this time and really put it on thick under the cover as well as around the edge where the cover and case meet up. Hopefully it holds.

The replacement motors from Autozone have an upgraded case/cover. The cover is held on by three little screws, makes them perfect when the time comes to change the gear.

Danny, you the man. My car is going in like a week or two, and all these stupid little friggin problems keep happening like it doesn't wanna go LOL.

I fixed the driver side motor with a metal gear, and just last night it started grinding again. I did the 180* fix which I didn't know about. Thanks man!

Hey Danny.. I searched the thread but didn't see anything. Is there any reason for the headlight to pop UP and then as soon as it's up all the way, FREE FALL back down? I've messed with it quite a bit.. idk if the arm nut is just loose or something.

EDIT: nvm. fixed it! Bottom stop wasn't getting hit by the arm, put some rubber hose over it so it comes in contact.

I can't seem to get my headlight fixed to save my life. Metal gears were installed last year, started grinding again due to the cover coming loose. I re-sealed it 2 weeks ago and now it's grinding again. I took the motor out and the cover is not loose. No clue what's causing it unless somehow the metal gear is worn.

Have you checked the tabs that hold the motor to the casing? If theres a little a play it will strip the metal gear

You were right.

I checked it out again, the stopper was there, but when it was closing the actuator arm was missing the stopper completely. I tightned the nut up some more to bring the arm in more, not it hits the stopper and closes perfectly.

Thanks!

I did notice there is a little bit of play between the motor and the case, I guess I'll try to fix that before I run the motor again. I ended up removing the cover and using a different epoxy to seal it since I found it was a TINY bit loose. BTW, the metal gear did have 7 teeth that were chipped

yeah dude I replaced mine with alumn gears and my driver motor has been sealed 4 times since then, JB weld won't even hold it shut! , Going to advanced autoparts and just getting a new motor. Sick of this issue...

Ok, my headlight motors work just fine. When the lights come up, on the passenger side light is on. With high beams off, the drivers side light and both high beam lights are dimly lit. When I turn high beams on, only the passenger side light is on, no high beams. Dimmer switch going bad or bad ground?
