uuggghhhh, my '02 WS6 just started making that awful racket when i push the lock button, or when I turn on even just the park lights, the headlights pop up, but don't come on until i turn them on. also, they make the noise when i turn the lights off....
sound like the plastic gear problem? does anyone know if the guy still sells the upgraded gears to replace the crappy stock ones, if that is, in fact my problem??

Is there any way to adjust the motor itself? I think my headlights are closing too hard...I've been having my bulbs blow out very frequently. I think the jarring of the bulb while still hot is causing the filament to break prematurely. Anyone have information on this matter?

I have a 99 formula and its making the grind noise when i close the lights. Where can I get the aluminum gear? I would rather stay away from the plastic...Also, what price bracket are we looking at?

My headlight motor just took a crap & I need to drive the car...
1) Which direction do you turn the Driver's Side gear to manually raise it? Clockwise or Counter-Clockwise
2) I've tried raising it manually, but it's not budging. Manually raising the passenger side is cake, but the driver's side won't give. ...?

My passanger side headlight will not go up at all. I do not hear anything like a motor trying to even activate. Is there an easy way to fix this? Replacment harness or something of the sort?
Thanks,
Matt

The headlight itself is on...should I just use a volt meter somewhere? If so, what wires/connections should I test? (I don't know which wires are the relay for the headlight motor.)
Thanks,
Matt

The harness is a 4 wire harness (underneath the headlight) IIRC, 2 wires for the actual "light" and the other wires are to power the motor. Just trace the wires that go to the the motor and see if you have power(volt meter) when you cycle the lights on/off

OK Thank you...I'll go try that. I remember trying to trace wires earlier, but I couldn't get underneath the lampp because it was stuck in the "down" position. Will I still be able to reach the spot to test?
