Default My Camaro is falling apart. WTF?!

I haven't had the cash to take the care of it that I am used to taking due to my joblessness, but I sure as **** didn't expect this crap to happen in the last 3 months (driven 4k mi. all year- 44929 now). Got a job today, a new company car when I start later this week, and my tempermental baby LS1 will have to go to sleep for the winter with me fixing all this crap one thing at a time. Anybody else's F-body falling apart?

Here is a list of the **** that is wrong with my car:

Sporadic SES light, throwing lean codes

T-Tops are rattly as hell and leak

Door lock sliders are loose and rattle

Occasional noisy feedback from speakers

Idle surges to 2000 rpm

Both turn signals don't cycle- right corner/turn lamp completely out, LH turn lamp out but the constant amber corner works

Rear-View mirror interior lights don't work

Synchros are a little f-ed up, but function ok

Driver's side kick panel cracked

Replaced blown slave cylinder 3 months ago

Whens the last time you change out the fuel filter??? That could be a main source of these two problems.

Never. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll do that tomorrow. It's pretty easy to replace, no?

Yep, very easy... Driver-side rear.. Just make sure you're carefull if you doing it on your back, because fuel will squirt at your face when you bust the lines loose... Delco fuel filter part#25121293.

Cant you relieve the pressure the same as when doing injectors? Pull the FPMP fuse and crank it over for a few seconds.

All that sounds pretty minor to me, not that it wouldn't **** you off but it all could be fixed in a couple of hours.

yea ive been havin some troubles with mine too.

-Rear main seal leak - just kinda hopin that problem will go away

-Rotors warped for the third time in a year

-brake pads worn out

-right front rocker panel keeps bending outward- somethings wrong with my subframe cause everytime the car goes up on a lift, the panel bends outward

-crack in the windshield, all the lugnut covers on every wheel are gone, alignments fucked

Mostly superficial things but on a college budget i dont have the money to get anything fixed or replace anything. dammit

This might sound a little "ghetto" to you, but if you wrap some electrical tape around the tips of t-top (the sliding bars that actually go into the a pillar) it might stop the rattling. It did for me.

Subframes connectors would have saved u the trouble on the ttops leaking and most of the rattles, but hind sight is 20/20. But just incase anybody else reads this

I forgot to list the window motors. Oops. Thanks for the ideas, guys... I'll do the t-top electrical tape mod today too.

My 00 SS rattled after 10k miles, Tops leaked after 15k...

I drove it pretty hard.

The previous owner on my 00 WS6 was older than dirt and added a STB, and Subs on the car when it was brand new.

It doesn't rattle or sqeak anywhere, and the Tops don't leak... ever.... Even when Im going through a car wash!!!

That kind of stuff is a price to pay for driving your car like it should be driven.

Replaced the f. filter today, was code free for about 20 minutes... Then, BAM! SES. Ah, well, I was due for a new one anyway. Tomorrow I'll be replacing the corner lamp bulbs and turn signal bulbs and cleaning out the IAC valve.

Bro, thats nothing

A buddy of mine got ASSRAPED on a 97 Z last year, and about the only thing that still works on that car is the motor. EVERYTHING has fallen apart on the interior, both door panels have popped off, none of the interior switches work, coolant leak, windshield wipers dont work (and it rained today), among 50 other things I dont care to remember. He got a Friday car....
