Question radiator lights on but fluid levels fine?

i have a 97 ss and lately my radiator light is periodicly lighting up but when i check the fluid level its fine. can anyone tell me why this is happening and how i can possibly fix it. my only guess is that the sensor is bad but not sure. thanks.

Is it your low coolant light. If it is the low coolant light, its in all likelyhood your low coolant sensor. They tend to be problematic on our LT1s. Here is a picture of the low coolant module and sensor. If it is indeed bad, it only cost about $25 to replace it.

Its really easy to remove. Here are the instructions

it may be possible that the coolant is actually below the sensor when the light comes on, but when the coolant heats up, it expands and rises back above the sensor...and that may be when your checking it....just make sure you check it when the engine is dead cold to be sure this isnt the problem....

We chased one recently and the wires had broke at the sensor
