Default German Castrol EMERGENCY!

So... Today I go to my local autozone to pick up some of the German 0W30 stuff and i find out some horrible news. Autozone has discontinued it as a company!!!! Does anyone know of another place to get it? Or a suitable replacement?

I can't find it around here either. I run the Mobil 1 0W40 European car formula. It seems to do the trick.

Yeah, it's time to change my oil and I've got just enough german castrol to do the change. I think I might switch to Mobil 1 0w40 since it is so much easier to find. I don't know. Let me know if you find it someplace besides Autozone. You could always order online.

I think this german castrol is a bit overrated. By experience.

German Castrol (GC) is not a thin oil. It is 12.2 cst at 100*C. In other words, it is almost a 40wt oil.

Going from 5W30 to 0W40 cured 90% of my oil consumption issues. And most of that oil I do use now can be found in my catch can.

I don't think it's over rated at all. Every car I've put it into has shown a dramatic improvement in engine wear in it's oil analysis reports. The results speak for themselves.

Patman, do you have another resource for this stuff. I have been told here in TX that Autozone is going to discontinue carrying that stuff as well. I currently run the Castrol 0-30 in the winter and would like to know where to find more.

I work at an AutoZone in Grand Rapids,MI we still have it. I'm not sure why the AZ by you wouldn't. Email me if you want and I can get you a sku # and you can have your local AZ do a search and see if any other AZ's by you have it. My last day with AutoZone is the 19th then I start a new job. If you want the sku email me before then at jrmitch19@hotmail.com

I have used Mobil 1 5w30 for years. I have never had an oil consumption problem.

I never has oil consumption problems until I change from 3.08 gears to 4.10s. The engine mists the oil a lot more at these higher RPMs and then it goes through the PCV. Totally understandable.

In the US it appears Autozone is the only place to buy it. In Canada it is sold in Canadian Tire and Walmart.

Guys the sku is 079191000687. If the AZ by you doesn't have it they should be able to order it if you ask. You will have to pay in advance if you order it. The only problem I see is if the US and German 0w30 use the same sku there is no telling what you will get.

Reading this post about not being able to get GC at Autozone anymore sent me looking, I got lucky and found 21 qts of the German stuff here yesterday. That gives me a total of 45 qts on the shelf.
My oil analysis are so much better since I started using this oil instead of the Mobil 1.

Thats what I was told. They think it has the same sku so its luck of the draw. I'll try that number and see what comes up.

I do know they said it was not discontinued.
