if it does, you can take the connector apart and "fix" it like i did, as have 10,000 others. The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
line that will draw current if they get defective. Alternator
rectifier packs can be damaged and leak back; check this
with the engine off (key off), disconnect the alternator
power wire and check current; any reading there is bad.
If there's no back-leakage in the alternator, disconnect
the + cable from the battery, attach a shorting strap to
reconnect it and put the ammeter across it, then detach
the shorting strap (all this, just to not throw the surge
load from power-up through the 10A meter fuse). Watch
the amps. See if there's a draw; if so, start pulling fuses
until you see it drop or disappear; note the ones that make
a difference, to chase down that branch later.
If you see the battery voltage declining but no external load

My Delco battery (like some others') developed a leak at the
side posts. Check yours.
3 bolts, 2 long ones up front and one short bolt in the back.
theres a weathertight plug with one red wire, and then the alt to battery cable which on my stocker was a royal pain in the *** to get off since the whole bolt would spin instead of the nut just holding the cable on.
not hard at all to replace, just make sure you got enough room under the car to work with.
