If you were messing with fuses perhaps you blew one.

It would be worth 5 mins to go back and check each individual one. You never know with a car's electrical system. You want to eliminate all the simple crap so not to spend needless cash. Can you think of anything else you did? Perhaps there is something else that triggered this. OH! I just thought, the ABS modulator valve is next to the fuse box. Check all your wires on that bad boy.

check and see if your 3rd brake lights are working. If not fix them. You can also clear the codes out by unhooking the battery and see if it stays off.

you blew ABS fuse. don't worry about it, just throw a new one in there. i took mine out and stomped on it. then i lit an ABS sensor on fire on accident, then the ABS stuff melted. you'll be ok, trust me

what exactly does the ABS inop light do to your car? Does it restrict anything or something?

No not on our cars. I have heard on some cars that when ABS goes out, the whole braking system is crippled. Our brakes work just fine without ABS.

i've had it happen before...

low fluid will cause this as well... along with low pads.. if your pads are too low the abs modual can have issues keeping even pressure on all 4... if it has issues it will shut down... well in my case it did... I put some fluid in and changed otu my rear breaks, pulled the neg battery, then took it for a drive........hit the brakes hard a couple of times and the light turned off.

I have had no ABS for 3+ years. Fixing to remove the modulator valve and install a line lock.
