Default I love autozone.

And this is the reason.
I bought a new alternator from them, for 122 dollers after a 10 doller core rebate.
And the best part is the warranty. Lifetime, if it ever goes out, i take my recipt (god, i can't spell for ****), and get a NEW part for FREE.
hell yes, autozone are gods in my book.

alot of car parts i buy from diff. places have lifetime warranties, like window motors..also brake pads, everytime i need new ones, i take the old ones back with the reciept and get a new set free, been doing that to my dakota for 4 years now.

I won't buy a damn thing from AutoZone. They've screwed me enough times to earn a place among the four members of my esteemed Kiss My *** List.

And I DEFINITELY wouldn't buy anything electrical from them. But, I hope your alternator works out

autozone parts suck I've replaced them so many times and the customer comes in and says well my brother just put in a new one of them 2 weeks ago and I look them in the eye and say sorry cheap parts don't last long. Thats why I bit the bullet and paid for the ac delco alternator cause It'll last along time and lets face it alternator changes on these cars could be easier although i learned that removing the bracket with the alternator helps out alot.

i bought a starter from autozone. As soon as you hook it up, it cranks. Like the positive and S terminals were internally connected.

autozone is a hit and miss on the alternators. Went through a few on my iroc, and the one that was on it lasted a year and a half before we decided to put a bigger alternator on. Some of their stuff does blow.

and, lol at the tommy boy replies.

Make sure they gave you the right part.

Check out the independent auto parts stores. If we all go to Autozone/Advanced/
Pep boys, that is all that will be left soon.

Tommy boy--good movie.............

If your time means money then autozone is pure ****. We own a shop and are plagued with idiots that drag in crap from them on the premise that it has a lifetime warranty. We are the first that then get bitched at 1 when the parts fail 2. when we charge labor for doing it a second time. You cannot go wrong with oe parts buy em once. carquest is also some damm good stuff as long as you stick to their premium line. to each his own though just 12 years of experience in the trenchs talking.

Default Autozone Parts Are Trash

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING THAT HAS A CORE CHARGE.

I repeat

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING THAT HAS A CORE CHARGE.

What you are getting is a remanufactured POS that has already failed, thats why u have to bring back in the core, so they can rebuild it.

I used to love cheap autozone parts until I bought a water pump for my 93 s-10. One day i was shifting into 3rd and I dumped the clutch a little too hard and the water pump shaft sheared off completely sending the fan into my radiator. That was a fun day. Oh yeah it had a lifetime guarantee though so it made everything all better... except for the 8 hours of my life that i had to waste to change out the other broken parts and 250 dollars more for a new fan, shroud, and radiator.

Having said all that, if you buy new parts that are like the a/c delco ones or whatever, not remanufactured, you will probably be just fine. I have since only purchased a few things from autozone. But i refuse to buy any remanufactured pumps or motors or anything like that.

If you love your car, buy her the best new parts you can. She will love you back.

I replaced a rear caliper on my old buick 3 times this year already from autozone! I think they clean the outer part and put it in a box. I think I'm wearin out the lugs on that wheel!

I went through 4 lifetime warranty alternators at uhoh zone in 1 1/2 years. After that I sold the car. It took 3-5 months for each alternator to start to develop the bad bearing sqeak.
