Default Failed Inspection Because Computer Couldn't Be Read?

Hey I have no idea about how the computer in the car works or anything like that, but I went to go get an inspection today and they said i needed new front brakes which wasnt a big deal. They gave me a temporary 10 day sticker for inspection and told me that the computer in the car couldnt be read and i should come back in 10 days and that it might magically work. This is a little weird what would cause it from not being read anybody know?
I passed last inspection with flying colors and that wasnt even too long ago..

yea actually my battery has been reset recently because neon lights were being installed and that was right before inspection could that possibly be a reason?

That sounds like the culprit. If you get a tune, reset the battery, or modify the computer's settings, it will show NOT READY to the diagnostic port. Drive it around for a few days and let the computer re-learn itself.

State inspections here in Texas are all-inclusive. Sounds like it's the same where he's from.
