Yes, the Supertech oil filter is very good! It's the best filter you can buy for under $5. It's made by the same company that makes the K&N oil filter.

This question has been asked and answered more extensively than any other question on this site. Consensus: Any of the major brands, 5W or 10W30, synthetic.

i looked last night while getting some goods.
there was a handful of them on clearance for 1.50 and a bunch of others on sale... none of them looked like the correct size for the ls1 (i didnt know the exact part #, i was just going off size)

what seperates the k/n from the tech brand at wally?

Probably the filtration material, lack of a nut on top, the brand name. Patman probably knows for sure.

BTW, if I was going with mobil1 I'd run 0w40 syn.

Normally I run GC 0W30 and Napa Gold (wix) or K&N bro

I'm running an oil analysis test at the moment, i've run GC green and GC gold, i'm waiting on M1 5W30 analysis at the moment, running M1 0W40 for next oil analysis, always used napa gold filter for all oil anlaysis, no top up oil, and close to 3,000 miles as I can get; trying to keep variables low.

The filtering media is different, as the K&N's media flows more, plus the K&N has a much higher burst strength.
