Change your own spark plugs or take it to get serviced??
#201
LT1 T/A's are worse than the Z28 on changing the plugs, cap, rotor and wires. For some odd reason I have more room under the cowl for 1-4 on the Z28 than TA but have to get to the rotor from underneath.
Both leave scraped knuckles but its down to about 38 minutes for the plugs alone

This thread is still active???
This was the first thing I did when I bought this car used and still stock. Once I popped off the coil packs it was a piece of cake. We had a mod meeting and I was done in less than an hour. Everyone was standing around me shocked as if to say "You're done already?". I couldn't understand why there is so much fuss over this and still don't. I guess the size of the person doing it really impacts things, I'm pretty small at 5'7" and 150 lbs.

I have always changed my own plugs along with heads and cams. You got to start somewhere doing your own work and if you can't change plugs you probably need to go to a full service gas station to get some gas.

replacing plugs
Got me some 41-985 Iridium plugs and ready to go. Pre gaps from .030 to .060. Regapped them ALL at .040 which is what GM recommends for these plugs. Have a 98 C5 vette and dreading the #7 plug near the brake booster.
Have a swivel 5/8" plug socket and lots of craftsmen wrenches and extensions but don't have a stubby socket wrench. My hands are HUGE so I'm looking forward to looking like I came in from a cat fight after doing this.
Where did everyine who used the adjustable wrachet wrench from Home Depot use it? I guess #7 and maybe #8. Don't want to remove lots of stuff if I don't need to. I am also looking at replacing stock wires (8 years old) with the 748MM performance wires which GM puts on later Z06s. Half the cost of stock 748CC wires and I believe better. Think the "tin cans" around the boots will still fit on the new performance wires. BIGHANK

Sounds like it could be your injectors...
Anyways, change them yourself, or post your location and someone on here will come help, throw in a 6 pack and a steak and you'll be in business!
