So i did an oil change today, this being my second time. The first time i had my friend to help guide me through.
Anywayz i put Mobil 1 0w-40 synthetic in and a Mobil oil filter 1007.Afterwards I drove my car (2001 camaro ss) about 2 miles to publix and it seemed good, i got back in and started it again and some sounds came from the engine bay, sounded like fluids being pushed around. That soon stopped, but my piston slapping sounds louder to me now than usual and stayed that way.
So when i got back checked my oil dip stick and it is reading like 1/2 inch or so over the top xxxx part of the dipstick (I put 5.5 quarts in). It may also be because i did'nt put any oil in the oil filter before screwing it in, since i totally forgot about that until i checked the forums (I did put oil around the upper ring though). Also i changed the oil while it was cold i didnt start the car up for 2 days. If any of these are the case could someone plz let me know where i screwed up.
Thx for any help.
