Default Headlight grinding....again!!!

My gosh dang headlight motor is screwed again. I did the free mod, that lasted a year, then I did the Brass gear...that lasted 2 months...I checked the medal tabs, they were tight, the motor didn't wiggle at all. I did the free mod on the brass gear, that lasted...2 months. No i'm back at square one. I either have to get another brass gear, or new motor. Is there another option out there that doesn't require fixed headlights?

Are the brass gears "gears" broken? If not it possibly could be the motor.

I didnt have very good luck with the Brass gears either.

I'd have one side grind, fix it, then the other side.

I finally got tired of it all, and ordered 2 new motors from GM.

Installed them, and everything has been quite and operational since.

Same here, except the brass gears lasted me about 6 months before one side started grinding again. I need to open it back up and see what's going on, but I'm afraid I'll just have to get a new motor. Then again, it could be an easy fix...

Maybe the worm gear (or whatever the brass gear makes contact with) is stripped?

Anyway, these popup headlights are nothing but trouble. If only there was a nice, cheap, DOT-approved fixed headlight conversion kit out there...
