Default Moral of the story...

I went out of town this weekend and my brother took my car out with his friends. I got in it today to go to work and noticed the steering wheel was cocked about 15 degrees to the left when I am going completely straight! I am trying really hard not to be pissed...but does anyone know how he might have done this? I have not had the chance to talk to him yet but I dont think he will own up to it anyways.

Sounds like he might have knocked the alignment out. Does the car pull to one direction or the other? Any new damage on any of your rims or tires?

If the car's not pulling, is it possible he messed up the alignment and then took it to get an alignment done? (Because I've seen some places not set the steering wheel straight when they're fixing the alignment.)

Ya we're going to have a little talk. The wierd thing is that car does not pull at all, and when I looked this morning there did not seem to be any damage.

Oh, but now I see I have a nail in my Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3, Not a cheap tire. The steering hydraulics looks like it has some steering fluid on it. I have never noticed this before.

Alright so we had our talk it went like this... (Me) So...did you take my car to a shop? (Brother) A shop? What do you mean a shop? (Me) *Staring at him. (Brother) *Pause..... - Um yeah, I went off the road and bent your left front wheel, I took it to the first shop but they said they could not work on aluminum. So I finally found a shop that could work on it and I had them fix it. (Me) Did you know the steering wheel is crooked and there is a nail in the right front tire? (Brother) No, but I would have fixed the nail too if I saw it. (Me) Well it needs an alignment. (Brother) Ya that is what the guy at the shop said but I did not have time to get it. Ill pay for it.

I am very proud of myself, I did not yell, punch anything or even get red in the face (I dont think) But the moral of the story is....DONT LET ANYONE DRIVE YOUR CAR!!!

He owned up to it after that little pause cause he knew he was FUC*ED. And he said he was sorry and he would pay for it. He said he was going around a deer, which I half dont believe but if he was I am glad he didnt total the car plowing through a deer. I still dont think he knows how much that tire costs. I wont be able to plug it because the nail is soooo close to the sidewall. Something like $240 per tire, he is going to **** himself. Then there is the alignment and probably some work on the steering. Most people dont understand how much time and money we put into these cars but boy do they find out if they fu*k it up.
