does it run cooler with the A/C on? What temp t-stat did you install?
Your water pump should be fine as long as its not leaking. I have never seen the impelers stop spinning before the bearings go. A common occurance is getting air in the system. That causes it to run hotter and in some cases, overheat. Try bleeding the air and see what happens. I also run about 230°F in stop and go traffic. I think that my problem is a 160° stat as opposed to a 180° stat. I believe your car takes a 195° stat.

if i turn the a/c on it goes to 250* and this is on a autometer water temp guage. and i have a 160* t-stat. a bleed the air out already, so it cant be that. maybe the coolant is not mixed 50/50, i dont know.
but usually are you supposed to see the coolant circulate in the radiator?

The only way a pump's ever gone bad on me, is
to leak. It would be extremely unlikely that a
pump that still spins, is not pumping water.
What have you (or your tuner) done with fan
settings? How are you reading the ECT value?
How clean is the A/C condenser, for airflow?

the fans come on at low speed at about 175, then high at about 190.
i will check the a/c condenser tomorrow, it could be clogged with dust.
