every time I hit a puddle, alternator gets wet and car starts to die

question on alt. If Any Body Can Help. Now That The Rainy Season Is Among Us Here In Cali I Have A Problem I Drive A 99 Trans Am Ws6 And As U Guys Might Know That The The Alternator Is Under The Car. My Problem Is That Everytime I Hit A Puddle The Alt. Gets Wet And The Car Starts To Die. If Anybody Had The Problems Before And Found A Solution Please Right Back Ill Strongly Appreciate It
