Default stripped Torx screw while replacing AC idler pulley

I need to change the AC idler pulley but I stripped the Torq Screw, think thats what its called, the one that you take out with a T50. And I am thinking about cutting the head of the screw with a dremmel and then taking the pulley out in order to take out the bolt with some pliers. Do you think this is possible? Let me know on your input? I don't really want to cut it and be without AC for during the winter, well i can handle that but I really want everything to work when i do this so please someone give your input. This is for a 2000 TA.

I've never really dealt with this problem at hand but I am in the military and removing stuck/stripped screws is the most part of my job. Unless anyone else has a better suggestion, I would say try your idea. God knows how many times I've done that. It should work fine unless the bolt is cross threaded in the hole. Once you get the head of the bolt and pulley off, use a good set of vice grips with nice pointy teeth. Torque down on that sob and you should be good. But, if you have an ez out laying around I'd try that first. Good luck!

Well, I just completed the AC stabilizer pulley install by cutting the head of the bolt that was holding it. I used a dremmel with an extension to cut the head ot the bolt. It took a while to get cut every thing, I didn't take out much beside the tensioner pulley below. So it worked. Thanks for the Rothman.
