Steering column locked!!
well as most of you know im putting a 408 into the vette... well we go to move the car yesterday and i put the key in and THE STEERING WHEEL WILL NOT UNLOCK!!! im freaking out... i have tried EVERYTHING to get teh darn thing to unlock... what controls the steerring column lock???
currently the car has no engine, the engine is totally removed and all sensors removed... the battery has a really crappy charge and im upgrading to an optima red top.
what exactly controls the column lock???? i just had an new key made from the dealership as well... it wouldnt unlock with the new key so i tried the old key and it still would not unlock???? what gives/???
the car has had the recall work done on the column lock recall.. so that is not the culprit either...
any ideas??? can i just disable the column lock in general??? im not real worried about anybody stealing the car.. i just need to be able to turn the damn wheel so i can get it put in the garage so i can put the motor in !!

if memory serves the recall did jack all about the column lock problem. There's loads of info on CorvetteForum about it. I think some may have been copyed into the Corvette section on this site too. Might be worth a read.
