Tick and Thump noise after WOT only when engine is hot. I recently had my engine rebuilt, maybe 700 miles ago. It seems almost every time I get on it hard right after it will start to tick loudly. If you let it idle it will go away within a minute. Along with the ticking sound you will hear a mellow thump noise also. It only happens after the engine is hot after about 10 min of driving. I had the same problem before the engine rebuild also. Im going to check the torque on the headers and spark plugs but I dont seee how a leak like that would make a thumpy noise though, but who knows. Any ideas would be appriciated. Im getting frustrated with this issue!

I have an audio/video clip of it if anyone would like to listen to help with ideas. Just give me your e mail addy and ill send. The sound will get faster with rpms but wont get louder with rpms. It usually only hapens after a quick WOT and will gradually go away after a few min at idle... You can explain away the ticking as alot of things, but the big question is the thud/thump type sound.
