Default AIR BAG FUSE...WHERE?? need help ASAP!

The lock cylinder finally took a crap on me tonight... while in my garage working on grounding a wire for my aftermarket gauges.

My question (regarding replacing ign key lock cylinder) is that the book says to remove the air bag fuse? Is there an actual fuse in the fuse box? or does this mean to just unplug the yellow connection under the knee dash? The book explains to do both.. but does not give an explanation of where the fuse is or what fuse it is. Anyone know what fuse its talking about?

The airbag fuse is usually around 40 amps.
Some cars label them as SDM.
It should be located in the fuse panel under the hood.
When messing with the air bag most technicians wear static resistant gloves disconnect the battery (with minimal downtime) and disconnect the airbag fuse.

Im not sure why you would need to disconnect the airbag to add a gauge but, its always better to be safe then sorry since two airbags are expensive.

The way that it read (before you edited it) made it sound like you were disconnecting the airbag to install a guage.

Be careful when messing with the air bags.
Take every precaution you can because they are very violent and expensive too.

you could just bypass Passkey. The passkey system reads the resistance of the key, but not in the ignition lock.
