Ss In The Houseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

I GOT MY SS FINALLYYYYYYYYYYYYYY....OO MANNNN I AM SOO PSYCHEDDDDDDDDDDDD....driving it home i pushed it man this thing is a DEATHHH WISH......just a quick question.....it has 67k miles on it.....the guy has been using synthetic oil....what type should i use and what number....

i use 10w-30 mobil synthetic.

DO NOT get the mobil filter though. it doesnt flow enough at high rpms. get a delco.

No offense man, but.. mobil 1 10w30 is NOT a good choice, read BITOG.com and view oil analysis results from blackstone chemists.. it runs around 9f in viscosity.. too thin for our engine. A 12f 30 wt oil is perfect... 0w30 german castrol (at every autozone) has scored best ring wear.. 5w40 mobil 1 truck and suv oil excellent, redline 5w30.. search Patman's posts. Mobil 1 5w30/10w30 = bad and RP 5w30 = worst... period.

There are TONS of posts on this topic on this forum as well.

well said. m1 filters are too restrictive, filter well, flow poorly. delco filters are good, one of the best choices is the HP-2006 K&N filter (from a silverado 5.3)

..fits right up to the camaro's engine and allows 6 full quarts of oil.
