I've never used the oil, but the gear fluid and tranny fluid was "proved" to gain i think 8rwhp, it was on HorsePower T.V. or something. There is no telling how old/bad the old fluid they drained was, but obviously less friction=power. So just when your up for some fluid changes give it a shot and see, but i'd by no means do it as a "mod". As for oil though, I personally, and alot of people in the club down here use Mobil 1 5w30 (fully synthetic) and i've had no problems, compression and leak down tests have been above average for a 135k motor thats been beaten on.

I was thinking about using the royal purple, since the web said it could be bought at Advance Auto, but they did not have it when I checked at one of there stores. I use the Amsoil synthetic. If you do a search on alot of clubs you will find alot of info. Here is some info.

RP 5w30 showed terrible wear numbers when I tested it in my wife's Honda, and it thinned out considerably in a short period of time too.

The Price you pay for RP these days is as just as Much as Mobil 1 so scratch that excuse.Only differ is i have My RP Oil shiped to my DOOR NExt day free of charge. for the dummies that think its bad in their car is prolly cause they put the Race Type oil in there car like a fool. And not the regular RP motor oil. I have it in my car Now i like it better then mobil 1 it gives more of a smoother feel Like butter. And it last longer heh. But each to his own.
