If the oil change was done right.... and if your pontiac dealer didn't do it right... somebody should burn that place down! but if it was done right and you are now 2 quarts low. You are either leaking in your driveway or burning smoke. If neither of those things are happening, then you trusty dealer didn't put enough in.
The worst thing it could be is maybe bad rings or something. I never got to dig in that deep in any engine so I'm guessing here.

What I would do if I were you... Fill it to the full mark after its up to temperature and on a level surface. Run through a full tank of gas. At your next fill up, check the oil (warm and on a level surface). If there is no change in oil level, repeat this through about 4 more tanks (1000 miles). Then you'll know for sure if your losing oil or not. Like I said earlier... if you're loosing 2 quarts in 1000 miles, you got to be able to see or smell something.

Check your oil. Top it off if its low. get in your car and without starting it, turn the key until your gauges/lights come on. To reset your "change oil" light (if it needs to be reset) hold in the trip odometer button until the light goes out. That being done, have a buddy stand in the back of your car or have him start it up and you stand in the back. Watch for excessive smoke and oil burning odor, especially if the smoke has a "blueish" tint to it.

Next, have somebody follow you as you get on it a bit (if they can keep up ) and watch and smell for burning oil smell.

If you notice any of these things, it could be a number of issues. Piston rings being the most common cause (besides an actual leak) of burning off oil.

Take it from there. Keep an eye on it.

I'm having the same problem with my car burning oil. I installed the TR224 cam a little while back. When it starts and when it accelerates it smokes some...but I also do not have it tuned yet. There are no external signs of oil leakage either. Any idea on what could be causing my oil to dissapear?
