Ls1 gastank like lt1?
I know that it is common fact that the lt1 gas tanks are sloped and the gas guage is inaccurate. Full on fuel is way past the full mark. Half mark is ~1/3 left of gas, etc.
I notice that my ls1 guage 02 model seems a bit more realistic. I keep getting nervous next to the 1/4 mark and i go to fill. I only squeze close to 12 gallons in. What is the actual fuel capicity and what mark should i start to find a gas station by?

If you have your owners manual it will tell your tank size in there- just look in the index for capacities and specifications. I have a 98 and the tank is 15.5 gallons, and I am almost positive that after '98 the tanks are bigger by a gallon or two.

It says 16.8. I don't know if this is realistic thoguh. So is it safe to say that i can run the car pretty close to the empty and still have a gallon or two?

You can get pretty well past E before you actually run out of gas, I've done it a few times, but I make it a rule to myself to try not to go much further than 1/8 or so of a tank. I just dont wanna get caught with my pants down.
Also, if you do run out, isn't there a chance you can @&%$ up the injectors?

98 had the same size as 93-97. 99-02 was larger.
LT1 fuel tank (93-97) (metal, 15.5 gallons) = 10269093
LS1 fuel tank (98) (metal, 15.5 gallons) = 10293379
LS1 fuel tank (99-02) (plastic, 16.8 gallons) = 10422917
I would not go past 12-13 gallons unless you're totally desperate. If you average 25mpg, that would be about 300 miles.
Once you know your average mpg, just don't pay much attention to the gauge, watch the miles instead. Sometimes the gauge will even shift on uphill vs downhill.
