Default Car acting weird

I was pulling into my parking spot at home, and the car went apeshit. All the gauge lights came on, the stereo cut out, the needless all pegged high, then pegged low. The car never died, but the rpm's did dip to around 500. Now I recently replaced the battery, I wonder if maybe the connection isn't very good? It also reset my radio settings, reset the trip computer...very strange to me. And now driving it back to work, the rpm's are still around 500 when I idle, it used to idle at around 800-1000. It's an M6.

Any ideas?

Sounds like a connection/low voltage problem to me. Since you have a 99 if you're also getting a gauge sweep on start up see www.ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=359115

Well damn, I hope it's good enough to start so I can get home at least. I don't have any tools in the car. I'll recheck the connections and see if that takes care of the problem.
