Things to be aware of?

I'm looking at getting a '95 to '97 Z-28 or Trans Am; I know most problems will probably have been taken care of, but other than the usual used car things to look for is there anything specific to these cars that I should be looking for?

Headlight gears being stripped (make sure they go up and down a few times fine) and power window motors being dead. Also possible leaky t-tops.

check the door hinge area for cracks in the door. had 2 of these damn things do it. one on each side of different cars. also open the trunk and check about halfway up for stress cracks from being closed 14million times. of course the typical oil leaks and water pump problems. one thing i always look at is underneath the front of the car. look at the crossmember under the motor. see if it has been bottomed out hard enough to do damage. happy hunting!!

Open each door and check the body tape to see if new rockers have been put on. You could take the sail panels off and check for a GM sticker on the quarter panels to see if they have been replaced.

get under the car and check the gaskets, ie the tranny and rear gears. check oil and make sure you dont smell gas and its not burnt, check your tranny fluid for a burnt smell. check also underneath and up front by the radiator for salt damage...from the beach or snow or whatever...
