Yea and since we're only talking about a defroster I would think that with the switch and the hatch glass with the defroster that you should be all set. I can understand the TCS/ASR. There are servos and all kinds of stuff associated with that but all we're really talking about is a 12 volt source so my best guess is it will have the harness attachment points and you should be all set once you get the climate control with the switch and the glass with the defroster.

Old thread, but I'm in the process of adding rear defrost to my 00 V6 now and thought I'd inform everyone what's there and what's not. The defrost is part of the power seat circuit. If you don't have a power driver seat you may not have the fuse and wiring in your car. I have a power seat. I pulled the HVAC controls and the plug is there, I just needed a control panel with the rear defrost button and associated electronics. The rear hatch does not have the wiring or connectors for the defrost. You need to get the wiring that goes from the body to the rear hatch. It has the defrost connectors and 3rd brake light wiring. The body side of the car connector has the wire for the defrost. If you pull off the rear dome light and pull the headliner down you can find the connector and you'll need to remove one 10mm bolt that's the ground. You have to have the hatch glass off to swap the wiring. I picked up a full hatch with defrost and wiring still attached. I'm waiting for the glass guy to show up right now to make the glass swap.
