Is the switch for it there by the temp control? Maybe the window was broken out at some point and it was cheaper to put in a window with out it?

Some fbodies which were originally sold in the southern states (florida, arizona, etc) shipped without the rear defrost. Not sure how much of the wiring is there for it or how hard it would be to install. I imagine it would involve replacing the rear glass at a minimum.

Did you have it tinted? If not the guy who had it tinted may have removed the defroster. I have heard that people do that to get a more uniform look on the tint. Do you have the rear defrost button still?

You have none! Maybe if you're lucky the wiring is already in the loom, just not hooked up?

I'd be willing to bet the wiring is there. GM probably only made one harness for the LS1 in each year. I know my car came without the 12 disc changer but when I was trying to fix my hatch release I found the harness tucked up under the driver side rear panel in the back.

I'm not 100% sure, but I'm willing to bet all the wireing is in the loom already. What you should do is go to a salvage yard and get the heat/air control panel off a car that has the defrost, and maybe even the rear glass, and while you're there, check out the wireing and make sure everything is on your car that you'll need. Like the wire that connects the window to the loom.

my car had the wiring for traction control but no switch, and no traction control lol...but the wiring i think is pretty much all the same, they wouldnt custom make each harness...
