Default Oil Change Light

My oil change light has started coming on, and I can't figure out why. It only comes on for a few mins after I start my car, and then goes away. I changed my oil about 600 miles ago. Is there anything that could be tripping the light? Maybe a bad sensor.

You still have to reset it.

Where is the button? I didn't know there was a button! Also, was that light something added to the latter model cars? My friend's 98 Z28 does not have that light at all.

Turn the ignition key to RUN, don't start car. Press and hold the TRIP/OIL RESET button on the instrument panel for 12 seconds.

cool, thanks, and that would be the only reason that the light would be on? It is just a reminder?

It's the GM oil life system - when it thinks you need to change the oil it comes on for a few seconds when you start the car, then goes off. Don't pay any attention to it myself, comes on too late for me - I go by the mileage.
