knocking from engine??

there is a quiet knocking coming from the engine...it doesnt seem like its coming from the belts or anything sounds more like its coming from inside the engine....HELPP

valve tappets most likely...mine does it with 80k miles...mac haik checked it and its a guy i know and he said its completely normal for those cars, he said try using castrol high mileage regular 10w30 not synthetic and it may go away...

could be a lot of things... slightly bent push rod. a collapse lifter.. oil pump goin bad not getting enough oil to the top of the motor maybe a valve r in my case right now a thrown connecting rod

I would try putting a long metal rod against the engine and see if you can get a more precise location on the sound.

i have a knock as well and have no clue wat it is,but spun bearings knock and offcourse vavletrain issues

check your pan for metal and that will give you a better understanding of whats going on....check back in

also try to cut ur oil filter in half, that helps out more
