I did it the same weekend I bought the car, during its first car wash . Put a nice crack in the windshield. Had it replaced for $150.

I'm an idiot, and have learned my lesson. Hopefully this post prevents someone else from doing it.

I had just washed my car last week and wanted to clean some of the underhood stuff. Popped the hood, lifted it, then lowered it realizing I still had my wipers up. Put them down only to notice a spider crack stemming from the bottom of the driver's side wiper arm. It's taken over about half my windshield now, but I'm getting it fixed today. There's $200 that won't be used for mods!
Ouch!

I got another one. Don't install your intake manifold until you've installed those two plugs in the back of the heads.

Two hours later and many scratched knuckles, I got those suckers in there without taking the intake back off

I didn't think this was a common thing. I always raise the wipers when I wash the car. And I heard them hit the hood when I raised it afterwards, but luckily there was no damage to the windshield or the hood. I just caught myself again last weekend. I was going to raise the hood to clean the engine bay and realised that my wipers were still up after washing the car
