Don't raise your hood if...
...your wipers are up off the windshield.
I'm an idiot, and have learned my lesson. Hopefully this post prevents someone else from doing it.
I had just washed my car last week and wanted to clean some of the underhood stuff. Popped the hood, lifted it, then lowered it realizing I still had my wipers up. Put them down only to notice a spider crack stemming from the bottom of the driver's side wiper arm. It's taken over about half my windshield now, but I'm getting it fixed today. There's $200 that won't be used for mods!

i've done the same. got the car brand new,not even 500 miles on the odometer. had it for about a month. detailing it for a car show. lifted hood, POP!!!! broke windshield.i took it very calmly, proceeded to clean my car, took it to the car show, put a bandaid over the crack and left a note on the car for all to see, what a DUMB *** i was for what i did.

Either way, great deal.

I've always used Safelite Auto Glass when I had windshields replaced on my old cars. They are a national company with mobile service. https://www.safelite.com
I have yet to open my hood with the wipers up. *knocksonwood*
