Most counties provide recycling services for free. Check your local dump.

Yes free at autozone. Try to be nice to them though, after you pour the new oil into the engine, pour the old oil from the catch pan back into the bottles that the new oil came in and put caps back on it. Makes it less of a mess for everybody to deal with.

I like to keep the empty gallon containers of drinks like Hi C. Makes it easy to take used oil to Autozone.

i use those old 5 gallon water cooler bottles from orzaka(the kind in offices) that way there is a lesser chance of them "splish-splashing" on the way to autozone

Default Oil

Just dont get lazy..........

I had like 6 oil changes worth of fluid sitting around from diff/trans/oil changes etc. Loaded it all in the tahoe and showed up at auto zone. They were definately not pleased after sayin "yea we'll dispose of that for you"
Plus I felt like a real tard making about twenty trip back and fourth with everything from a milk jug to a pan with lid to dump the stuff.

P.S. dont get antifreeze in there they really dont like that!

this is a little off topic, but what is done with the old oil? can it be recycled for more oil or does it have to be thrown away?

Yes, it's reused. It further lives on in: industrial burner oil, hydraulic oil, as an additive, lubricant, refined base oil for other products.

I put my used oil, tranny fluid, brake fluid, gear lube in a five gallon steel bucket that used to hold concrete sealer.

I have another for overflow when I get lazy. I couldn't stand putting it into small jugs, too much chance to make a mess.

The places I go they point to the back and say, "Don't make a mess." Advance Auto and O'Reillys are the places I go.

That is will. It keeps plants down but you need to watch what kind of soil you are on before tossing it blindly. Clay you are fine. Anything else don't do it. It makes your drinking water taste like **** and can not be removed by treatment plants. Ask me. I know.

Thanks man.

I read that CalTrans uses/used it as a weed killer on the 10/15/91 freeways out here is Southern CA.

Actually, I don't doubt that. It's good for gravel roads too. Keeps the dust down.
