Question Any body use Valvoline 5W-30?

When the next oil change comes up, im planning on using Valvoline 5W-30. Anybody use this and do you have anyproblems with it. Also i think i have the LS1 "tick" does that come from the kind of oil you use?

When I went to the German Sytec, it disappeared.

Valvoline is fine for a dino-based oil, but I'd go synthetic for sure.

Default Engine Tick On Cold Start

If you want to reduce or sometimes eliminate that embarrassing piston clattering on start up & you live in the south you could use just about any brand of synthetic-blend 10w/40 with a high flow quality filter , and wait for the factory oil change light to replace.

I dont have it on start up or under accleration its just when its idleing and sounds like a sewing machine. I did some searching on this topic and found my answers, and my conclusion is its just normal for the engine to do it and not worry about anything.
