Default Differences in 99 and why is it slow?

Okay everyone I have a 99 Trans Am Ws6 automatic and it has 75,000 miles on it, I just got it this year and so far it seems to be kept in good condition. The car runs fine and has never stuttered or acted up. Okay call me stupid but I sold my black 2000 Z28 to get this trans am because I wanted something faster and I LOVE the trans am body style. My camaro hauled *** and I always felt like I was being thrown into the backseat. When I would floor it it would burn it's tires and the front would jump up and then I would fishtail everywhere. With the Trans Am I floor it and it sits there about 5 seconds and then it decides it will throw the RPMs up there but it won't jerk and take off. It is a very slow increse and I am baffled at the performance between these two cars. The only mod that I had done on my camaro was cutouts and this trans am is bone stock. What could be causing such a differece in performance? To me it sounds really bad when a WS6 can't even spin the tires.
Has anyone had this problem with the slow 99? It has the Gu5 rpo door code thing btw.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

its possible it just needs some general maintence. spark plugs, plug wires, o2 sensors, clean the MAF, a bit of system cleaner like seafoam, air filter. also, auto or manual? im guessing auto. also, are you getting a SES light?

everyone else already knows what i'm gonna say:

seafoam it!

https://ls1tech.com/forums/general-maintenance-repairs/534376-how-seafoam-your-car.html

then change your fuel filter, plugs, wires, O2 sensors and CATS WHILE IT'S STILL FREE UNDER 80,000 MILES! i bet you'll pick up SERIOUS power.

i wish my car got sideways...2.73's....i did it once. ONCE wasn't on the shift though

wouldn't shoving a rod through them make them faulty?

I think tires play a strong role in this too. Shitty tires will spin and fishtail all day. These are two things you don't want though. WS6 may have better tires. Fuel filter and spark plugs would be good to do either way.

A dealership won't replace cats for free if they have no problem. They have to be proven to be clogged or something.

My car is a 99 and it wasn't slow when it was stock. So year has nothing to do with it. But now all stock f-bodies feel slow.

Sorry for the delay in a response lol.. My tires are brand new and I'm pretty sure they are different brands but they look exactly the same. I am going to start with changing my spark plugs and I will go from there, right now I don't have the money to dig into the car but I was wondering if it was normal for my year. I guess not heh.
My car isn't throwing off any codes but I have noticed that when it gets hot I can smell this odd scent like burnt syrup. The car runs good as far as always starting up and never bogging down really and it doesn't miss or act strange besides that it's slow. I think as it stands ANYONE could whip me. Here is what my tires look like, I really don't know anything about tires..at all. Wouldn't the SES light come on if something were wrong with the O2 sensors or cats?

i bet at you would feel a bigger difference in performance with changing the fuel filter over changing the plug wires especially if its still a stock filter.
a bottle of sea foam and a new fuel filter would cost you alot less than plug wires and would be much easier to replace than the wires too.
and that 2.73 rear gear is really killing you down low thats probably why your not getting that fealling of being pushed into the back seats.

hey be nice to the 99....actually the 98 is crappier, the computer is just a bitch to tune...if your o2s are crappy or your cats suck....majority of the time itll set something off....BUT...with my new 01 motor, i blew the o2s in a matter of days...the ses light only comes on like once a week for a few hours then goes off....the 2.73s do suck down low...but the top end is nice...done about 158 in mine....id like to see many 4.10 guys do that lol, get a stall...maybe a 3200...thats a good dd....lol taco ive gotten sideways several times even with new tires.....even better on the old slicks...you wont feel much if you change anything...maybe some response but not much....but it will be running better, better mpg, and get some horses back.....and talkin about how crappy ur cars runnin....maybe u need to go back to the steering wheel pic

is the difference between 2.73 and 3.23 minimal enough to make it not even worth it? Make more sense to go straight to 3.73?

honestly if you have the right stall you wont feel your gears that much.....3.42s is the highest id go unless i was just straight track

friend of mine went from 2.73s to 3.42s and u certainly felt the difference. he does have a loose stall and it helped alot. basic boltons, stall, and 3.42s got him 12.64 in a 98

The 273's seem to make a huge difference to me anyway. My 2000 T/A won't spin the tires from a stop unless I torque brake it a little, while my Firehawk will sit there and roast them by just mashing the gas to the floor.

Change your tranny fluid to. Back when my 98 was bone stock and also an A4 at that time it did this same thing. I changed all the fluids, filters, plugs, wires, and cleaned out the MAF. I fired the bitch up and she ran like a raped ape. Your tranny maybe slipping to that will cause it to act weird like that as well. Just a thought.

yeah that's right mines worse.

I can't even chirp some shitty all seasons at 25, and I only put down 271 with a cut-out!! thats like 305 bhp bone stock. stupid *** accurate ratings dammit.

I've seen bone stock 2.73s that trap higher than me .

But try a tune, it might be rich if you've also noticed bad gas mileage- mine gets 13 city
