Default car revs to 3000 on startup, then dies.

hey guys, just did the LS6 manifold swap along with !AIR and !EGR and now I'm having problems. The car sounds A LOT louder to, like it has an exhaust leak but I bought the blockoff plates for the !AIR and !EGR so this shouldn't be the problem. I also had the battery unplugged so maybe the PCM is trying to find idle? any ideas?

The idle is just EXTREMELY rough now, like the car is cammed or something and I have to give the car some gas or it dies.

did you check for any vacuum leaks after doing your LS6 manifold swap?

Go over and recheck everything, rough idle is normal while the PCM is relearning. You didn't mention a SES light, but some codes will not come on until after a few ignition cycles. Since you did !AIR and !EGR at the same time if they weren't already deleted you should be getting a light for those too.

Yeah I have an SES light, but I figured I'd have them right away anyways from my research. I've seen the PCM relearn idle this is just...different.

I checked the front 2 hoses and the rear small hose on the back and as far as I can tell everything is in order.

I'm guessing vacuum leak too. Might be the intake gaskets not seated right. Brake booster hose not connected. PCV lines all connected right?

If it's louder you might have a exhaust leak. Did you put the gaskets back on with the block-off plates?

Also check for any sensor or hose that might not be plugged in.

did this manifold come with a tb and did you keep that tb?, check the brake booster and pcv lines as stated above....which gaskets did you use? the grey ones or the red ones?

I pulled the intake manifold again today and carefully put it back in. I think it was a (PCV?) hose that wasn't connected near the driver's side head back by the firewall. Car runs much better now. Thanks guys, you rock!
