No way in hell I'd pay $50 for 6 quarts of oil.

Protecting your $6k engine isn't worth $50?

For cars like mine that aren't dd's and only see one oil change a year (and could probably go longer than that), $50 is a moot point. Even on a daily driven car, members here run ~8k mile change intervals and there's still life left in the oil when they drain it. You think you're paying twice as much for oil, but your able to go twice as far between changes. My $.02.

interesting...

i was hoping they could do a little better with the price, though. autozone is still ~$33...and no shipping now if shipping was free, i'd never go to autozone again.

Do they really have it at Autozone? I've been to two different ones and neither had it in stock. OH 98camaroLS1M6: I just checked out WS6 Store and they already have it in stock. I think I'm going to pick some up actually

Hey guys,

We have dozens of cases on order, the price is preliminary....it MAY go down, no promises though. A case weighs roughly 13 lbs so we will do our best with shipping. We know it's hard to come by for some of you so we took the step to order several cases of it to help the LS1 community's demand for this oil. It should be on our shelves soon.

Thanks!

Josh

sounds good. now all these guys that say they can't find the oil can't use that as an excuse anymore

btw, do you ship to alaska and hawaii? i know some LS1tech'ers who live outside of the continental 48 states dying to run this stuff but can't get it anywhere.

this will make you probably the only big website on the internet that carries GC 0W-30. i've only found one other website but they're very small in comparison to you guys. hope you guys stock up on this stuff. i have a feeling it's going to sell like ipecac at an bulemia convention.

What's the benefit of using this oil? All I see are raves about it, but this site is the first I've heard of it. I've been using Mobil1 5w30 with a K&N filter for a few years, though only getting one change a year, with maybe 2000mi at the very most between changes.

Its not like M1 or any other oils don't protect. Maybe its not as good an oil, but you can change it more often. 50 bucks is a bit steep and I don't care what kind of oil it is I am not going past 3K.

Think about people...it's 50 dollars. You know how big of a hassle it is trying to find this oil EVEN at AutoZone. I waste more time and money driving around that I would changing the oil. 50 bucks and its delieved to your door that's just fine by me.

I have two large Autozones between my workplace and home. Neither one stocks it. A smaller store closer to home, but the other direction, stocks it. Interesting. Fortunately, this Autozone is between the house and the beer store.

I guess for those that can't find the GC in their area $40 isn't bad - but I'll continue to pick up mine at Autozone on the way home from work for $34 - they carry it continuously

You're absolutely right, and nobody should argue that.

Doing a $25 M1 oil change every 3k miles is going to cost you the same as running GC for 6k miles if you purchase it off the web for the higher price, plus you're getting better protection for the entire oil change interval.

Respectfully......then you're wasting your money buying synthetic oil. You might as well buy the $1/qt dino stuff if you want to stay stuck in the past. The 3 month/3k mile oil change interval just doesn't apply to today's synthetic oils.....they're made to protect better and longer than conventional oil.

You will clog the filter/contaminate the oil at the same rate reguardless of how good the add pack is or how long it lasts. The oil jsut wont BREAK DOWN as fast with synthetic.

You do have a good point. I usually go about 4K-5K miles between changes. Just long enough to save a few $, but not too long that the oil becomes very contaminated.

i believe most oil filters are good for about 7,000 miles. that means that big name synthetics like mobil 1 15,000 mile extended life oils are worthless since the filter has to be changed anyway, so you may as well swap out the oil. that being said, i run my GC 0W-30 for 4,000 - 5,000 miles. i intend to get this batch analyzed if the funds are available to me at the time.
