Not sure what you're talking about, the window stabilizers on the inside or the weather seal on the outside? Scratches on the inside or outside?

Just a GM service part, you'll need to pull the inner door panel and they are held in with one bolt.

As you know they pad eventually wears down and starts to eat your window.

Still not sure without a pic, but sounds like outer window seal on top of the door. It's rubber/metal and attaches from the inside with clips. 93-02 PN is 10284222 for the passenger side.

Never replaced one, probably have to leave the window in the up position and pull the door panel.

I believe your talking about the outside weather stripping. It's held on by metal clips that scratch everything when they come loose. I never changed one but I need too but I think all you have to do is roll your window down and pull the old clips still in the door out and change them and just snap them back into the door. I maybe right or wrong?

I honestly can't say I know the "right" way to get that outer trim off, but I do know it is held in place by a couple barbed metal clips that press-fit down and hook into the door panel.

Go ahead and order the replacement part, and take a look at the fasteners when you get it. It'll make sense then.

The problem is in order to get in there and pry the clips loose, you'll probably need to take the inner door panel and supports out, and press the window inwards to get enough space to work with.

I had one of these replaced during an accident repair and the new one never hooked back in quite right. It would always lift slightly out of place rolling the windows up, and I'd have to push the fugger down every now and then. I suspect the body shop just pulled the old one up brute force method and tore up the areas where the barbs were supposed to seat. So don't do that.
