Default Need Info.

I own a '97 3.8 camaro. 5spd, 30th Ann., ect. My problem is every once in a while my car won't start. My SECURITY light while stay lit for about 5min. or so. Once it goes off, I can put tha key in and it will fire up and run fine. Just wondering what could be causing this issue?

Sounds like it's not recognizing the key pelet value - first thing I'd do is thoroughly clean the key. If it continues could be the ignition switch, VATS wire broken, etc. You can do a VATS bypass by placing a resistor in the wiring too.

http://shbox.com/1/vats_bypass.jpg The main site also shows you how to get the resistor value from the key if you decide to do it...
