Go for the battery/connections first. If you have a digital volt meter see what it's reading. Sometimes the make a rapid clicking, one click and die, or just die and won't click at all.

one solid click. its prob a starter.. if a manual.. try drift starting. also. turn your interior lights on. try to start. if your lights dim exesively then its proba battery.. if they are fine. (light turns off when you turn key but ocmes back jsut as bright when you let off no dimming just on/off) then its probably a battery.
check to make sure your terminals are clean. alot of time currosion builds up under the red/black parts on the side mount terminals and cause it not to start.
good luck if you have any questions pm me. i work for AAA and see this about 14 times a day over the past 2.5 years. so i kinda know alot of the tricks.
